Dr. Kalyan Uttamrao Gangarde 

Dr. Kalyan Uttamrao Gangarde is an associate professor of English at Dr. K. N. Modi University, Newai, Rajasthan, India, where he also serves as a recognised Ph.D. supervisor. He holds a Ph.D. in English from Swami Ramanand Teertha Marathwada (S.R.T.M.) University, Nanded (2014), an M.Phil. from Madurai Kamaraj University, and an M.A. from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University. He qualified the State Eligibility Test (SET) in English from Osmania University, Hyderabad, in 2012. With over eighteen years of teaching and research experience, Dr. Gangarde has established himself as a distinguished scholar in English language and literature.

His doctoral thesis examined power and discourses in the select plays of Habib Tanvir, Utpal Dutt, and Chandrasekhar Kambara, reflecting his sustained scholarly engagement with Modern Indian Drama, Postcolonial Studies, and Literary Theory. His broad research interests encompass Indian Writing in English, Cultural Studies, Gender Studies, Translation Studies, Comparative Literature, and English Language Teaching — areas in which he has published over 50 research papers in national and international peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes. He has translated Marathi literature into English to make regional texts accessible globally, including the translated novels Under the Scorching Sun and Kamli. He is the author of four academic books and has contributed to a total of eleven scholarly volumes as author, co-author, editor, co-editor, and translator, demonstrating a wide-ranging and prolific engagement with the academic publishing landscape. 

Dr Kalyan Gangarde serves as chief editor of two internationally indexed, peer-reviewed journals: New Man International Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies (ISSN: 2348-1390) and the Chronicle of Humanities and Cultural Studies (ISSN: 2454-5503). He is the founding director of the Centre for Humanities and Cultural Studies. Also he is a member of the Board of Studies (BoS) in English at K. J. Somaiya College (Autonomous), Mumbai, affiliated to the University of Mumbai, where he contributes to curriculum design and academic planning.

As Secretary of the Mahatma Gandhi Education and Welfare Society, Parbhani (Maharashtra), Dr. Kalyan Gangarde has played an instrumental role in educational development programmes and the organisation of numerous national and international conferences and seminars. He has supervised four Ph.D. scholars to successful completion in areas including Devdutt Patnaik, Henrik Ibsen and Mahesh Dattani, Shakespeare Studies, and Manju Kapur. His career reflects a deep commitment to scholarly rigour, institutional leadership, and the advancement of humanistic inquiry.
